In January 2018, the Mexican Museum in San Francisco mounted an exhibition An Artist’s Evolution, a retrospective which has elevated Fernando’s exposure in the SF Bay Area and beyond. Fernando has an extensive resume of solo and group exhibitions on a regional and national basis. Reyes attended The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he received a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 1997. After moving back to California, he opened his studio in 1999. His work includes figurative nudes, landscapes, floral works, and still life in several media including oil painting, charcoal/conte drawings, and printmaking. While he has moved more toward abstraction, he is sill known for depicting the human figure, with homoerotic images such as this one.
