A Jack Russel sits contemplatively gazing at an expansive landscape. Artist Sally Adams paints the peaceful scene with soft brushstrokes and a complementing vibrant palette in red, green, and blue. “If one ponders long enough, they come to realize that they were never really lost.”
About the Artist
Sally Adams recalls the moment she became a painter at the age of four; her love for art is innate and lifelong. Her intention is to extract beauty from everyday life. The advice of an art teacher, “less is more,†is one of Sally’s guiding principles. Her artwork brims with intimate simplicity and childlike joy. She enjoys simplifying and sweetening compositions from nature, such as trees and birds, painting only the core components necessary to convey an emotional connection. Sally has three grown daughters who are all active artists, and they work together whenever possible. “I taught them the joy of creating art when they were young,†says Sally, “and they taught me to do what I love for a living, by their own example, in adulthood.â€
