Female Portrait is an original modern artwork realized in 1908 by the Italian master Giuseppe Galli. Original oil painting on canvas. Hand-signed and dated on the back of the canvas: G. Galli 1908. Mint conditions. Impressive excellent oil artwork on canvas depicting the portrait of a woman watchin on her right side. The stroke is fresh and well calibrated and reflects an interest of the artist for the Italian macchiaioli painting. The composition is very light and, on one side, we can see some green leaves that give the work a touch of color. This work has been realized by the Italian painter Giuseppe Galli (Vercelli, 1866 – 1956). He was a painter of genre scenes and portraits (especially of women) with remarkable technical abilities. He had Ferdinando Russo as painting teacher in his hometown and he studied at the Albertina Academy under Biscarra. His career beginnings are dedicated to watercolor and, in 1917 thanks to his skills he was nominated an honorary member by the Academy of Brera: the Municipality of Milan also showed his appreciation for his talents and bought the watercolor “Eighteenth-century frivolity” for the Modern Art Gallery. From 1920, he abandoned his job as an employee to devote himself only to painting, in which he also refined his skills in the oil painting, creating refined scenes of the Eighteenth century, portraits, landscapes and still life compositions. He participated in numerous exhibitions, including international ones. This object is shipped from Italy.
