Original CACAO VAN HOUTEN, LE Meilleur Chocolat a consommer liquide. Hot chocolate turn of the century antique vintage poster, unsigned. Printed by W. Hagelberg Akt in Berlin, Germany. The image features two girls passing a cup of Cacao Van Houten hot chocolate through a broken fence. This chocolate company created a variety of designs over the years, but this is one of the much more rare images from the company. From their website: “Among the chocolate brands available today, few can claim a legacy that goes back over 180 years. Van Houten has been manufacturing cocoa powder since 1828, when its founder, Coenraad Van Houten, pioneered a process to manufacture cocoa in Amsterdam, Holland. The result was a tastier and more soluble cocoa powder which spurred the growth of the hot chocolate drink industry. The poster has some restored fold marks and restored 1/2” white borders around the outside of the image. Presents very well. Very rare original Cacao / chocolate original poster.
