Frog Babycirca 20th century

A fine large cast figural bronze fountain of a nude boy with pan flute and three frogs known as “Frog Baby” by American sculptor Edward Berge (1876-1924). Berge was born in Baltimore, MD, studied at the Maryland Institute, Rinehart School in Baltimore, and the Academie Julian in Paris, and became known for his bronze monumental works and figures. This attractive patinated bronze dates to the 20th century and is signed on base “Berge” with the foundry name “Roman Bronze Works” incised along the bottom rim. Very good overall condition, with a few minor scratches, imperfections, and light commensurate with age and use. A great addition to any garden decor!
