19th century French Louis XV stucco carved and gilded trumeau mirror. A stunning French antique Trumeau in Rococo style with carved and gilded stucco ornaments. The panel is defined by finely detailed carvings in the 18th century technique. The top of the mirror centred with an allegorical sculpture of musical instruments, acanthus, bows, ribbons and sea shells. It is highly ornate and opulently gilded against a patinated pastel blue-gray background. The fabulous decoration is built on a wood backing. The split Mirror plates are of later date. This Trumeau is an elegant centerpiece in any interior and an example of rare masterful French stucco technique. Good antique condition with age related wear.
