Antique Peking Chinese Small Carpet

Seasonal flowers are everywhere in this dark blue northeastern Chinese Peking rug, circa 1890. In the circular medallion with its elaborate paeonies; in the floral sprays symmetrically placed in the field, in the beige border with more paeonies, along with rosettes and stems.. There are still further paeonies in the corners with thin attendant tendrils.
