Center Table, with Lazy Susan Rotating Brazilian Agate on Black Tempered Glass

This center table is an original design featuring a one of a kind “Lazy Susan” Brazilian agate (rotating agate) Agates are formed in rounded nodules, which are sliced open to bring out the internal pattern hidden in the stone. Their formation is commonly from depositions of layers of silica filling voids in volcanic vesicles or cavities. The layer’s form in stages with some new layers providing and alternating color. Most agates have a hollow void that often has crystalline quartz growths on its innermost layer. Agate is named after the Achates River in Sicily, Italy, whose upper waters were an ancient source of this gemstone. The glass used for this table is tempered black color, 12mm thick. The agate size is: 19.7″ x 18.8″ x 1.5″ thick.
