Early Victorian 18 Karat Gold and Garnet Cabochon Mourning Bracelet, 1840s

A very fine antique Victorian era 18K gold and garnet bracelet. With a decorative scroll frame centered by a prong set oval garnet cabochon in 18k gold. Braided gold bands wrap around the wrist with a box clasp closure and a safety chain. The reverse side of the centerpiece bears an engraved dedication that reads “Mabella Court Hurst died July 29. 1845.” Simply an extraordinarily fine early Victorian mourning bracelet! Date: 19th Century Overall Condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition with some very fine & light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
